Statement of Faith · Ends of the Earth Initiative

What We Believe.

ENDS is an explicitly Christian ministry, and everything we do rests on historic, biblical convictions. We train national pastors to preach a particular gospel — the one delivered once for all to the saints — and we hold the following to be true, essential, and non-negotiable.

Article IThe Scriptures.

We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in all it affirms, and the final and sufficient authority for faith and life. It is God's self-revelation, profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. Because most of the peoples we serve are oral learners, we are committed to bringing this Word to them faithfully, in their own languages, whether in print or by voice.

Article IIThe Triune God.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory, and worthy of all worship, love, and obedience. He is sovereign over all things, holy, just, gracious, and good.

Article IIIJesus Christ.

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth, sinless life, and substitutionary death on the cross for the sins of the world; in His bodily resurrection, ascension, and present reign; and in His personal, visible return. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Article IVThe Holy Spirit.

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates and indwells every believer, and empowers the Church for holiness and witness. The same Spirit who raised Christ is at work in the frontier villages where our pastors labor, drawing the unreached to the Father through the Son.

Article VHumanity & Sin.

We believe all people are created in the image of God and are therefore of immeasurable worth. We also believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, are spiritually dead in their trespasses, and are unable to save themselves. This is why the gospel must go to the ends of the earth: not because the unreached are worth less, but because they are lost apart from Christ.

Article VISalvation.

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — a free gift of God, not a reward for works, received through repentance and faith. All who so trust in Christ are justified, adopted as children of God, and kept by His power to the end. We reject every teaching that makes the gospel a transaction of merit, ritual, or prosperity.

Article VIIThe Church.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers, expressed in local congregations gathered around the Word, the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, prayer, and mutual love. We believe the local church — including the smallest house gathering in an unreached village — is God's chosen means for making disciples of all nations.

Article VIIIThe Commission.

We believe the Great Commission is the standing command of the risen Christ to His Church — to make disciples of every people group, baptizing and teaching them to obey all He commanded. We believe this task is not optional, is not yet finished, and will be completed. Our conviction is that it will be finished in large part by indigenous believers reaching their own peoples — and that the Church in every nation is called to send, resource, and pray toward that day.

Our ConvictionsHow This Shapes The Work.

Doctrine is not decoration. These beliefs determine how we train, whom we partner with, and what we refuse to do:

Doctrinal Unity With Our Partners

ENDS partners only with ministries that share these core convictions. Our partners hold their own detailed doctrinal statements within the historic evangelical tradition; we work in glad agreement on the essentials of the faith while honoring the healthy diversity of the global Church on secondary matters.

This Statement of Faith is intended as a complete, historic-evangelical confession suitable for a missions organization. Before formal adoption, your board and any denominational or partner affiliations should review and ratify it so it reflects your exact convictions.
